  1. BNSF do not use flashing ditch lights and yes they turn on using the H key.

  2. yes hitting the H key turns them on

    ReplyDelete
  3. I didnt ask if they flash... but ok.

    ReplyDelete
  4. could the maxi stacks just be seperate ???

    ReplyDelete
  5. no they are articulated for a reason. that's a different version all together

    ReplyDelete
  6. Why would you make us pay again if we already had it? Why not just give a free update like your locomotives?

  7. I only gave 2 free updates on my locomotives first of all. the others were not free and nobody complained. reason why this isn't is because it took me 3 years more to finish it and it has 3 times the amount of stuff in it. new rolling stock, assets, transfer points and more that I built from scratch. Its not like I just repainted a model and posted it. im sure you understand when you sit back and think about it. everyone else does you should get on board or find something else. sorry

P.S. ur maxi stack well cars look very realistic, along with the containers.

  9. I like this route a lot, the only thing I don't like about it is the fact that just leaving the yard that the scenario markers are placed at the city type scene, the crossing gates are floating beside the pole, and the road splits a ton and cars keep appearing and dissapearing. Other than that, I really love this route.

    ReplyDelete
  10. thanks I am working those fixes now

    1. Alright, thanks. One more thing. When I purchased your original route, I had this same problem. In this version and the old one the SMM digital crossings change and they activate really close to when the train is near the crossing now. Also, in the middle of the train, the gates go up like they did on the normal SMM digital crossings if the train was too long, but on these that were with this route it only takes about 10 cars until it doesnt stop traffic anymore. Also the foot of the post has changed its shape. Is this you changing it or you just used a really old version of SMM digital crossings, or what? is there a fix? I fixed mine last time by getting a friend to resend the SMM digital folder to me who does not have the route.

      Delete
    2. I only have the old crossing gates. Are the new ones easy enough to drop over and overwrite?

      Delete
    3. Yup, just overwrite the old ones and all the crossings in game stay where they were but just act better in my opinion.

      Delete
    4. Can you show me where I could find them? Thanks

      Delete
    5. I got them from when the site was still up. I think there is a download on digirails for them.
( http://s1.zetaboards.com/DigiRails_Forums/topic/5066481/1/#new ) If you really want all of SMM's stuff if you would really want it I could somewhere make some sort of download, but they have the RPE-4D slug and the C39-8, with the crossings and buildings

  11. Ian, how far south does this route go? I've been hoping that this route would reach down to Portland, OR.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. To Tacoma. To go all the way to Portland would take many years to finish.

  12. could you make a freeware demo of your stuff maybe like we choose 1 locomtoive we want or something kinda like britkits

  13. The route is fantastic Ian! Just finished my first run across the whole line. As a local I can tell you that you really captured the area well.

    1. excellent it was hard being an east coaster trying to get everything in there. thanks!

  14. Maybe next time you could try to make custom railroad signals like wayside and crossings?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Realised no signals showing! Searching for what ones are missing - can anyone give a pointer to save some time - thought I had everything installed and all the other routes etc as well

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ok re did the freeware stuff and the missing ones were in that - funny thought I had installed it as these were the only things missing

    ReplyDelete
  17. Sorry another query - is there any way to get the sun visors raised on the C40 -8W? Cannot see it in the manual but they do obstruct the view both forward and to the side?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. no I would need to change their position in 3ds max. I will probably do that.

  18. Hello!

Looks like a good route, I'll try and get it soon.

    ReplyDelete
  19. If that were possible it would certainly improve the driving experience on what is a lovely unit with great sounds. I can see me using this a lot on other routes as well.

  22. Ian, I had a problem with getting the New Seattle to run, it would crash to Desktop. I had Steam reinstall Railworks again so I would have a clean install. So just to be sure that I did everything correctly this time, I want to check with you and see if what I am doing is correct. Since I didn't have the have your route installed I installed the four (4) files with version 1.1, then the Freeware assets. I will see if this version will run, If it does then I will install the New version. Also I do have the Donationware Assets. Do you think it would be alright to install this also? Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Never mind got the route to work. Important point, clear Blueprints before running the route. After I remembered to do this everything worked.

    ReplyDelete
  24. It still crashes on me Ian, i deleted all of my PONtrack.bin's, cleared Cache, and installed updates, AND I CANNOT GET THIS ROUTE WORKING!!! Help Me out please..

    ReplyDelete
  25. Hi Christian. Did you have the route installed before? I didn't have it installed so what I did was install the four (4) old version files, then freeware assets. Then installed the updated version, Assets 1 thru 5, then Rolling Stock, then SOO Assets and finally the Route. Then installed install 1 thru 5 and then scenario fix. However the Scenarios still have AI issues that need to be fixed at least the second and third one I have tried.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Not the Old Seattle Route, but this version of it.

    ReplyDelete
  27. You need ti first install the old route see the bottom line of the 3.1 install instructions . You should delete what you have installed, then do what I did. You need to read all the notes above about needing -scalerail, scaleroads, and world landscapes needed. these are free at www.3dtrains.com. Also need Sherman hill. this route was the new default route for TS 2012 when I began building my route so that's why I used its assets. The old default US and EU asset packs from one of these routes:
    West Coast Mainline North,
    Ohio Steel 2,
    Cologne-Dusseldorf,
    Portland Terminal,
    Portsmouth Direct Line,
    Rascal and Cottonwood,
    Colton and Northern,
    Fort Kent to Eagle Lake.
    Then clear the cache.
    Good luck.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I do have all of the assets needed. SH, 3dtrains stuff, Old US and EU packs.

    ReplyDelete

    1. Then all you have to do is Delete what you have installed for Seattle Route. Then install the OLD Version First. Like above. Then install the NEW Version.

      Delete
    2. Can you show me on steam then? I dont get it.

      Delete
  29. Do you know how to use TS Utilities, the same one you used to install the rwp files? Just choose Uninstall the Seattle, Assets and any other files you installed. After that, install the OLD Seattle first then the new version.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yeah show me on steam, on here it aint gonna work.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I don't understand what you are requesting. Show you on steam.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Show me on the Steam platform, thats what you need to run Railworks with, if you said you got it working then you must have steam right?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Yes I definitely have the Steam program but I personally don't know how to do what you are asking. You have to have the Route loaded to run the Route in Railworks. Steam Program doesn't run anything it is just a gateway to download and run programs.

  34. Hi Ian,

Your work creations look fantastic! And thank you so much for what you do both in terms of both Railworks modelling for TS2014 and also your generous donations to good causes with proceeds from sales. Just one quick question, as I'm looking to buy your Seattle route, but am not sure from the product description what two locos it contains. I'm desperate for a Dash 8 for my game, and love the look of both your Dash locos, but not sure whether either (or even one) of these are included with your default route package. Or whether I'll need to buy both the individual Dash 8 loco packages you're selling independently. Fear not I'll buy something :) , just understandably I don't want to potentially end up accidentally doubling up on the locos. Your clarification here would be very much appreciated. Thank you very much in advance for your help. Kind regards, Alastair.

    1. Hi sorry for the late response. I have been busy. But there is a BNSF dash8w and a sd60m plus rollingstock included with the route as default.

  35. Ian, Wanted to see if you could help me. Downloaded your Seattle Route and I have ran into a few problems. I have uploaded everything in the order that others on here have said worked in their favor. I have not been able to load a scenario with any other locomotives besides the BN SD-60. When I open a scenario on Seattle, there are black and yellow X's all around the loco and consist. I haven't been able to load anything else unfortunately. If anyone could help me out, I would greatly appreciate any advice I could get!

  38. If I buy the 'old' version and like it - can I then pay an additional $20 and 'upgrade' it to the new and improved and final Seattle? In other words, pay $35 for you final version just like I would if I just bought it first?
I would like to see a few vids about the final Seattle so I could judge your work. Not familiar but what little I've seen here looks great. Certainly, don't mind spending the $ considering how much work you put into it. Small price for the effort and artistry.
BTW are you selling the Utah RR repaints I've seen on YouTube?

    ReplyDelete
  39. I installed everything in the right order, including the previous version, but the game crashes every time I try to either load the route/scenario, or edit it.

I tried deleting the PONtracks.bin files, but there weren't any to delete. Any ideas?

    ReplyDelete

    1. EDIT: Nevermind. It's "PONtrack.bin", not "PONtracks.bin". That's I couldn't find them.

  43. Ian,

I have an issue with the SD60M throttle. It does not function properly; there is no animation when using the A/D keys and I have to use the F5 HUD or drag the throttle in the F4 HUD. Is there a fix to this yet?

    1. Also, pressing CTRL + D on the Dash 8 does not activate the dim light. I have to do it from the cab. Any ideas?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Thank you for fixing the link. :)

  48. Could you possibly release the SD60M itself, say for $10 USD? I'd buy that.

  49. Hey I Need Help. It's Not Working On My Version Of RailWorks. Does It Work On Yours

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Go to your root "Railworks" folder, and search up "PON" and it should pull up those .bin files. Once you get those files pulled up, you're going to want to delete ALL "PONtrack.bin" files. There should be 3 or 4 of those that MUST be deleted in order for this route to work.

  50. Hello, I recently purchased the route, which I think is really well done. I do have one question however. That is, I was wondering if I could make a PERSONAL extension of the route to Lakewood Sounder. I would not release the extension, just use it personally.
